My Journey through Bloglandia!

Greetings Friends! Today I have joined a tour of Blogland and you get to come along--yay! When Revi from Revisionary Life invited me to participate, I thought it sounded like a fun way to check out new blogs and also make some more blogger besties.  I met Revi through our mutual blogging buddy Audrey just a little over a month ago.  We are both Texas girls and found we have much in common, especially when it comes to repurposing our thrifted treasures. Revi also has a charming Etsy shop.  I just love her style and appreciate that she ends each post with a verse for the day. Below is a sample of her fabulous handiwork.   Drop by and tell her Cecilia sent you!

For the first part of our tour, I will answer several questions about my blog.  On the second part of our journey, I am excited to introduce you to two other lovely bloggers! I have enjoyed their blogs and am happy to share the love. So grab a cup of coffee or tea, sit back and enjoy ......

What are you working on right now?
I've been blogging a little over a year now and just joined Hometalk this week. Currently, my page is embarrassingly bare!  The next 'to do" on my list, is to change that and get some posting complete.  I also have a growing pile of prospective Etsy listings, waiting to be photographed.  I find this to be more of a chore than taking my blog photos.  Can anyone else relate or does my attitude need an adjustment?

How does my work differ from others in this genre?
First thought--is this a trick question?! As bloggers we thrive on our unique creative bents, right? Seriously though, we've all heard the quote: Necessity is the mother of invention.  In other words, thrifty living is not just a genre for me, it has been my lifestyle.  As a single mom with three kids, creativity needed to happen! My kids are grown now and something very interesting transpired over the years.  Out of my original need grew a passion to create more from less in my home and garden. My desire to share these passions became the catalyst for this blog.

 Why do I write/create what I do?
Simply put, I L-O-V-E what I do! Whether it's receiving an order for wedding herbs, repurposing a thrifted find, or transforming a worn piece of furniture, I am in my element.  Writing to share it with you is the icing on my cupcake :)

How does your writing/creative process work?
I am a garden girl--my first inspiration almost always begins in my little sanctuary. I recently shared my garden as my creative space at Where Bloggers Create. To date, it has been my most viewed post. You can click on the photo to see more. I may be watering with the hose or on my knees weeding but mentally I am contemplating my next post or two. When an idea does come to me, I try to get the title in my post list quickly so I don't forget! I usually take groups of photos for a few posts at a time and spend a good portion of time editing, and adding them to each specific post.  Then I write my post on another day.  I like to write when I am inspired--not on a deadline! I do not like to write the same day I post but I re-read just before posting and almost always make a few minor changes.

Now I have two more lovely bloggers I'd like you to meet.  Next week, they will be doing their own blog tour post and introducing you to more fabulous bloggers!

BJ at Sweet Nothings has been blogging since 2007. She had to create a new blog when something happened and blocked her from her original blog.  She lost a lot of sweet followers but so many found her again, she is in full swing.  She describes her blog as "all about home and family" with decorating, cooking and just about anything exciting that happens around Sweet Nothings. BJ referred to her blog as "pretty generic"--but I found it endearing and aptly titled. Some of her recent posts include sweet thoughts about her granddaughter and some stunning photos from her Colorado vacation. You gotta love someone who signs each post "Have a sassy day!"

Melissa from  More with Less Mom  lives in New Hampshire with her family of six. She is the crazy neighbor with paint under nails, glitter everywhere, a cat in every window, and the Christmas tree up all year. Her blog was born in 2010 and is designed to help the frugal family stretch their dollars and enjoy their lives. Her quirky painstaking posts are the delight of the internet and social media users who follow her. Speaking of social media--this lady has over 2300 Pinterest followers! Consider me impressed! Melissa offers lots of free printables as well as practical tips including the lightbox photography post below. She recently opened a funky Etsy shop called House Punkery.

I'm so glad you came today!   Let's show our fellow bloggers some love--hop on over to visit and remember to watch for their tours to continue August 11.
