Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! Did you have an autograph book during your school days? There was a time I obsessed over getting autographs and alternately folding the pages facing up or down! So I experienced a wave of nostalgia when I spotted this old-school album...
Happy Monday, Friends! Welcome to the Spring into Summer Porches, Patios and Outdoor Spaces Blog Hop hosted by Amber, at Follow the Yellow Brick Home! Spring is always a busy time in the garden, preparing for the summer months before the Texas heat hits! My summer calendar is getting full, and I've been busy as a bee. Along the way, I've created some whimsical repurposed projects and shared a few outdoor tablescapes, but I'm also taking the time to literally "smell the roses" and to appreciate the other lovely garden blooms! Won't you take a stroll with me?

I adore decorating and gardening but as a single parent have always needed to do both on a budget. Thrifting-- my all inclusive verb for shopping resale shops, thrift stores, estate and yard sales is not just my hobby but rather a lifestyle. It supports my habit of collecting Vintage dishes and Pyrex and over the years has proven invaluable for decorating and re-decorating. I am passionate about transforming and repurposing cast away furniture and love furnishing my home with pieces that have their own history. It has saved me more pennies than I can count and is the perfect solution to almost any dilemma. Your child comes home from school and informs you that he must dress like his favorite super hero TOMORROW? Your daughter can only wear modest knee length skirts to respect the local culture on her upcoming mission trip? Volunteer to host the next ladies event but then realize you don't own enough matching glasses? The answer to these questions and so many more: THRIFTING! Last, but certainly not least--thrifting is all about re-cycling, re-imagining and re-creating; the best way to shop green!
