Heavenly Honeysuckle Picnic in the Garden

Happy Tuesday, Friends! Today I'm delighted to join the 2025 Summer Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by gracious Rita from Panoply. Join me for a simple picnic in the garden celebrating one of my favorite scents of summer--heavenly honeysuckle

2025 Summer Tablescape Blog Hop

If you hopped over from visiting Kim from The Catz Whiskers, welcome! Before we head over to picnic, here's a view of the drought tolerant vine that blooms profusely in my garden. If only I could share the fragrance through the screen! Maybe like me, the flowering vine evokes nostalgic memories from childhood--inhale deeply and just imagine that ah-mazing scent...

The vintage quilt I selected for my picnic mimics the hue of the featured blossoms.

Do you know what I realized after setting my pretty picnic? With the exception of the gifted flatware and the food and flowers, everything else was a thrift store find--which makes the picnic all the more pleasant!

  4. Yes! The scent of honeysuckle takes me immediately back to my childhood – or more specifically, my teenage years! My first kiss happened on our porch with that fragrance in the air! Thanks for that trip down memory lane. I wonder what ever happened to that guy?!? But back to the present, your quilt is perfect for such a fresh picnic setting! I LOVE your plates and that charming blue basket. And Jasmine tea with honeysuckle ??! Sign me up! Thanks so much for the inspiration Cecilia! Hope your summer is just as lovely!

  5. What a lovely summer vibe your table is giving off here, or I should say your picnic. I love honeysuckle, and can almost smell the fragrance. We used to have it growing wild at our old house, and it always gave off such a fabulous fragrance.

  7. There is nothing more nostalgic for me than the smell of honeysuckle from my childhood! It also reminds me of our Avon lady, and the honeysuckle fragrance being one of the Avon staples. I am happy to say that the plant is still present in my adulthood, growing wild along my current walk path, so I can imagine that fragrance perfectly with your picnic in mind. Such a perfectly colored quilt for the subject at hand, and that honeysuckle syrup tea sounds quite intriguing! Thanks so much for bringing that heavenly scent back from childhood in today's hop. I love all the vintage goodness surrounding it!

  10. Cecilia, what a pleasure to picnic. I love any opportunity to picnic anywhere. It must be an even greater pleasure to picnic next to such a fragrant shrub such as honeysuckle. A perfect country setting with your yellow quilt and blue vintage basket filled with flowers, tea and brownies. What a charming place to chat and have such wonderful treats. It is even more rewarding knowing that such a cozy and welcoming picnic was all created from thrift items. Such a treasure and many memories. Have a great summer.
