Hi there, Friends! I hope you've been having a relaxing weekend. Today I am sharing how simple it was to transition my whimsical winter mantel to a romantic one for Valentine's Day. You'll see how I kept the same basics, switched out a couple of accent pieces and added a few more.
Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! I've shared before how I inherited my love of thrifting from my maternal grandmother, Mo-maw. When I spied this doily covered napkin holder, I instantly thought of her. To my recollection, she never actually possessed a doily covered napkin holder, but Mo-maw did crochet and she had oodles of doilies. Perhaps because of the red rose center, it also made me think of Valentine's Day so I created a unique display for a few of my vintage valentines. Available

Happy Wednesday, Friends! I think we're all interested in saving money, especially when there is a convenient solution. Since I'm such a bargain hunter when it comes to thrifting, you might be surprised to know that I usually dread going to the grocery store. Today I'm sharing my recent change of heart...oh, and there's pasta, too!
Hi there, Friends! Today I'm sharing a collection of simple and sweet Valentine projects that were upstyled one way or another--from yard sale finds and my craft stash to everyday household items. Take a fresh look around your home, what do you have that's waiting to be used in a creative new way?

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! State souvenir plates have been a good seller in my vintage Etsy shop. In fact, after selling several over the holidays, I'd made a mental note to myself in hopes of restocking my inventory. Would you believe I came across a nice little collection?

Happy Wednesday, Friends! Just after posting my 15 Minute Winter Whimsy Mantel, I scored a pair of fabulous handmade mittens. They're so bright and cheerful, I decided to add them to the hearth as a cozy greeting. Ready to see this week's 15 minute fix?
Hi there, Friends! What's the weather like in your part of the world? I know winter storms are affecting many of you. I hope you're staying snug and warm. Here, it's been more wet than cold--perfect for staying indoors and recreating something new, from something old!
Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! Coming across something I haven't seen before is one of the best perks of thrifting. I am smitten with this set of Asian ladies and the intricate details of their kimonos. Have you ever seen anything like them? The delicate faces appear to be hand painted and the silky fabric gives them a three dimensional quality, but the backing is tagboard. The red cords would suggest they may have been intended as ornaments, but I think they would be so lovely in a framed display. Available

Happy Wednesday, Friends! The winter months can be hard on the skin and the psyche. For most of us, a charming retreat getaway or day at the spa is a rare occurrence, but that doesn't mean we can't pamper ourselves at home. A little self-care goes a long way in lifting the spirit if you're prone to the winter blahs...
Hello, Friends! We're so excited to announce the Vintage Charm Feature of the Year: Drum roll please...Congratulations to Robin at Redo It Yourself Inspirations, whose fabulous Horse Carriage Bench Seat Makeover was chosen as our very first Feature of the Year!
Hi there, Friends! I'm always happy to find an occasion to celebrate friendship and recently my friend, Carly celebrated a milestone, her 30th birthday. I'd planned to treat my sweet friend to dinner once she'd finished celebrations with her hubby and family. We originally intended to go out for dinner, but wild women that we are, agreed we'd rather have a quiet celebration at my house. I happen to agree with the famous quote from The Wizard of Oz, when Dorothy said, "There's no place like home."
Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! Winter is upon us and even though our Texas weather has been mild, I couldn't resist these fun handmade mittens. I love the colors and have a project in mind...

Happy Wednesday, Friends! Since today is my first post of the new year, I thought it would be fun to resume The 15 Minute Fix. Now that the Christmas decorations are stowed away for another year, I'm adding a few cozy accents for the winter months, starting with my mantel. As I've shared before, it isn't my favorite season and when it comes to winter decor, I'm drawn to simple and soothing with just a touch of whimsy...
