TGITF Friends! I am so excited about today's feature--these Vintage chairs I rescued from my favorite thrift store for $8 each! When I updated my dining room several months ago, I sold the two bulky parson chairs that were at each end of my table. Since then, I have been holding out for just the right chairs. More than once, I was tempted and almost bought something I liked but didn't love. As is often the case, I am so glad I waited because these I truly, madly love!
My favorite local thrift was expanding to a second location across the street from the original. I already had plans to go to their grand re-opening sale but when I saw these chairs and their price tags on their Facebook page the night before, I decided to be there when the store opened. I was first in line, and my local blogging buddy Audrey was right behind me! We chatted a few minutes until the store opened.
When the doors opened, I spied them right away. There were five but I only needed two. I had one hand on each of my picks when a rather grumpy gentleman informed me that he needed all five. Nothing doing--I was the early bird, after all! I gripped my chairs a little tighter, smiled sweetly and stated firmly, that I already picked my two. He wasn't too happy...but that didn't dampen my spirits!
I'm sure you have guessed a makeover is in progress. Here, I have removed the cushions and my chairs are ready to be transformed. By the way, you won't believe what I used to recover the cushions--can you envision the loveliness? Be sure to come back Sunday to see them revealed!
Cecilia ... those are beautiful chairs and glad you got first pick for your two. I saw one that needed quite a bit of work on it. Glad you knew how to handle the grumpy old man with a sweet smile and a firm voice.
ReplyDeleteYou are really a tease ... have to wait to see the final results ... but the wait will be worth it. I know they will be beautiful.
Hugs,

Gorgeous chairs and so glad you got your two!! Can't wait to see the makeover!
ReplyDeleteThe early bird gets the worm, right? The have such great bones and I know they'll be gorgeous when you finish with them.
ReplyDeleteThey're so pretty! I'm coming over right now to see them...
ReplyDeleteThose are so pretty! Off to see what you did to them. :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cecilia
PS
Bravo for not letting the grumpy gentleman (hm, seems like a contradiction there) talk you out of your chairs!)
