Hi there, Friends! It's time for this month's Creative Craft blog hop hosted by Donna from Modern on Monticello! Today I'm sharing how I refreshed stemware that I've had for years in three simple steps. The power of paint never ceases to amaze me--come see for yourself
If you hopped over after visiting Gail from Purple Hues and Me, welcome! I featured this coppery stemware in my fall tablescape last month. I bought the set on clearance at Target years ago. You can see the previous pewter-finished stems below. I was surprised how easily they twisted off the acrylic tops. However, you can achieve the same look by using painter's tape on glass stemware. (The painted stems are not dishwasher safe.) Ready to make your own?
Start by removing (or taping above) the stems. Then paint them with acrylic craft paint. You'll notice the paint color I used is called Blush Gold but the dried color definitely looks copper. (TIP: I applied two light coats.) Last, once they are dry, remove the tape or reattach the stems. That's all there is to it! Here's another view of the stemware and the dining room tablescape. Did you notice the flower-topped pumpkins from last month's craft hop? You can see more of my cozy autumn home tour, here.
