Hi there, Friends! Welcome to this month's Creative Craft Blog Hop hosted by Sara from Birdz of a Feather! Today I'll show you how to craft a rustic wreath using thrift store Easter egg garland. Whether you dress it up or keep it rustic, you can make this whimsical wreath in minutes

If you hopped over after visiting Carol from Bluesky at Home, aren't her air-dry clay eggs pretty? I bet I am not the only one who occasionally makes over a makeover--am I right?! I originally featured the upcycle of this thrift store egg garland back in 2015. Here's the before:
Since this rustic garland was constructed with twiggy wire, all I used to make this rustic wreath was the garland and a simple hoop. However, you can create a similar look by wrapping twiggy floral stems and attaching the eggs with wire or hot glue. Adding a bow is optional depending on your preference. Below, you can see how I wrapped the wired garland tightly around the hoop to create the wreath and then trimmed a few of the longer twigs.

Here's a view of how I styled the wreath and hung it over my mantel. Stay tuned for more of my spring decor--I'll be sharing my home tour on March 24!

I added a narrow velvet ribbon for a touch of elegance and the vintage frame really makes the rustic wreath pop!

Your Easter egg wreath is adorable, Cecilia! I love the colors and it's so versatile!

ReplyDeleteI love the blue colors. And I just updated three Spring wreaths from previous years so - NO - you are not the only one to redo a makeover. Love it.
ReplyDeleteCecilia, What a great way to update a wreath for spring and Easter. The pretty blue eggs in different shades are a stand-out. The entire vignette with the sweet ribbon, a scalloped-edge blue plate, and the cute bunnies is a lovely spring decoration.
