Maybe you've already discovered the many ways vinegar can be used to clean around your house. This recipe elevates the typical vinegar and water solution with citrus. Save your orange, lemon, and grapefruit peels and squeezed slices! Citrus fruits contain citric acid which neutralizes odors and is a super cleaner that works well on hard water and soap scum. Citrus peels also contain d-limonene which kills ants and other pests naturally! Simply fill a jar with citrus peels, cover with vinegar, and allow to steep for at least 2 weeks. This will make a concentrated citrus cleaner.

In the meantime, gather your herbs and rose petals for infusing the cleaner. Thyme contains thymol which is antiseptic and antibacterial. Rosemary and roses are also antibacterial and antiseptic.

  1. Saving citrus peels is already a staple, but infusing them with herbs and rose petals is next level. Bet it smells amazing instead of just smelling like a jar of pickles.
