If you've hopped over after visiting Terrie from Decorate with Tip and More, isn't her bath board lovely? In case you missed the Confessions of a Dishaholic Spring Home Tour I shared last month, here's a peek at the repurposed egg cup tea light I featured in that post.

Since I don't like to waste the bottom-of-the-jar wax from my favorite candles, I use an old tea pot to melt the remnant wax to create new candles.

I've had these pretty green glass egg cups for several years after scoring a bargain during Easter clearance sales. As I began decorating for spring, I realized they were the perfect size to make lovely little tea lights. To make your own, start by securing candle wicks to the cup with a glue dot while the wax is melting. Then add a wooden holder to keep the wick in place and pour the melted wax into the egg cup. Last allow the wax to cure overnight before trimming the wick. Safety reminder: Remember that a tea light candle will not burn as long as a larger one and as with any candle, please do not burn unattended!

  1. I don't throw out my old candles either, but I never get around to making new candles with them either. Thanks for showing me how to do that. Your Easter vignette is lovely.
