Happy Wednesday, Friends! Welcome to the 15 Minute Fix, the time I share my latest mini makeover or garden quickie. Like many fixes, this project started with a thrifted bargain...
Some time ago, I found this pair of old school clipboards at a local thrift store for .25 each. I decided to use one to create a mixed media collage, with the clipboard serving as a frame of sorts.
First I gave it a coat of robin's egg blue spray paint: 5 minutes.
I planned to use burlap and just happened to come across laminated burlap when I was shopping for something else at the craft store. Does that happen to anyone else? I had never heard of it before, but now I will definitely use it again. The pieces are precut and laminated so there is no messy, cut burlap fuzz to contend with. The package I used had three sheets for just under $4. Well worth it in my opinion, and it was just the right size! No glue necessary--I just clipped it to the board: 1 minute.
I wanted to create a nature inspired collage. I pictured a variety of bird eggs and found a scrapbook ephemera assortment on Amazon, that was just what I envisioned. Plus it included over forty pieces--plenty more for future projects. I spent a few minutes arranging the pieces I'd chosen and then attached them with craft adhesive squares: 5 minutes (For supplies, see links at the bottom of the post.)
Ta-daa!
I added a tiny bee magnet to the clip and here's a peek at it on my mantel....
Remember to drop by tomorrow's Vintage Charm party!

ReplyDeleteCecilia, this is really fun. You could change out the art on the clipboard for the seasons. This would make a nice gift. :)
