Happy Wednesday, Friends! Time for another 15 Minute Fix! This week I'm sharing a thrifty garden quickie and you may already have what you need to create your own...
Most thrift stores usually have a variety of baskets available. I will grab any that catch my eye, because they are great to have on hand for gift baskets. Here's one I made last year for my Mom's birthday. Sometimes they are perfect just as they are...
...but some need a little love, like this one. Love the shape, but the color was pretty drab,
until I gave it a coat of Rustoleum Spa Blue: 5 minutes.
Here's a tip I use with deep containers like this basket. I simply flip a few flower pots over for the desired height and then smaller plants can be placed on top...
...like this. From drab to fab in less than 15 minutes!
How do you use thrift store baskets?
Join us tomorrow for Vintage Charm and then
Friday for The 5 Top Things to Look for @Yard Sales --it's going to be fun!
Love the idea! I have a tendency to collect baskets because I like the shape but once I get them home, I don't know what to do with them. Will be giving this a try. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove your choice of color! It just pops with the pretty flowers.
ReplyDeleteLove how the color makes the flowers really pop! Beautiful! I have a large picnic basket I got for next to nothing at the thrift store. I use it for a flower arrangement. Some large ones hold pillows or blankets or to do projects. I think I might need to plant one or two. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the blue on your basket and how lovely it looks holding the pink flowers. A regular feast for the eyes.
ReplyDeleteI love your idea and how cute it looks. I want to do this to. Thanks for sharing. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteGreat color choice! The blue really pops with those pink flowers. Gosh, I use thrift store baskets for EVERYTHING! xoKathleen
ReplyDeleteSo pretty - and I love that color with those flowers! You keep inspiring me to want to get out to the antique and thrift stores more regularly. Thanks for the continued great ideas my Friend! xoxo

ReplyDeleteCecilia, I love this! I've actually done this before and the texture of the basket looks great with plants.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you shared this at Thoughts of Home. Have a great weekend!
Yup it's fab. Love the color! I pick them up and use a lot of them in my pantry to corral food items. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
