Happy Monday, Friends! It's been a bit since I've shared a 15 minute fix, and today I'm sharing a quick chalkboard art project...

I've shared before that creating chalkboard art freehand is not my strength. Ever since I stenciled an inspirational message on my vintage school chalkboard, I have been using stencils...

...and white pencils. I bought this Fresh Flower Market stencil 40% off at Hobby Lobby when our local store opened last winter. Ready to make your own?
Here's what you'll need:
a chalkboard--with chalkboard paint, you can repurpose almost anything to create one!a stencil, a white pencil, and painter's tape

First: Tape the stencil to your chalkboard. Next: Use the white pencil to color inside the stencil! That's all there is too it! TIP: You can still wipe away any mistakes, but the white pencil lasts better than chalk, so it just takes a little more elbow grease!

Cecelia,
ReplyDeleteReally pretty!! I did stencils so many years ago when they were the thing then...Glad to see they are coming back. I like the use of the white pencil!! Thanks so much for for your visits!!
Hugs,
Deb
Oh, I really like the idea of the pencil caz I have never had good luck with stenciling altho I think I realize I have to drybrush/pounce intead of trying to paint! Went to a small local auction (with mask) today and had a VERY good time! Drainboard is full, dishwasher is running...
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea, especially for us that can't freehand well.
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty too!
Cindy
