Friday greetings, Friends! Today's Fridays at Home feature is an upcycled project requested by Favorite Son...

If you've been following my storm damage clean up and 6 week progress update, you know that Favorite Son has been a huge help to me. He is an electrician's helper and when he saw this discarded bunk bed ladder at a jobsite, he envisioned repurposing it as a light fixture. You might say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. 😉

He picked out the paint. The shade is called Rock Garden. It was my first time to use the Deco Art Outdoor Living variety.

Like the chalk paint, and vintage wash varieties, it goes on smoothly and covers nicely. Here, you can see me applying the first coat. I decided to give it two coats for the project that Favorite Son has in mind. When he finishes his masterpiece, I'll share photo updates!

Until next time, stay safe and healthy!

Oh, I don't know how you can part with it! Oh, yeah, it wasn't yours to start with. I'd have blankets hung on it. Or stacks of towels or small collectibles! Can't wait to see the final product! My daughter had an old ratty ladder she mounted sideways over her couch and put framed family pictures in each step. I just love all the things ladders are good for! My fave is a $3 3-step stepladder that I can easily manage when I don't need the 5' one!
ReplyDeleteNice color! We had a rickety old ladder that was weather worn. My husband made some birdhouses that I painted and decorated and we put them on the steps of the ladder. We set it up at our little place at the lake.
