Happy Wednesday, Friends! Today's 15 minute fix is the simple heart wreath I promised to share. In fact, it's so quick and easy, I made two--this romantic floral version...
...and the cozy gray burlap style I featured with my Valentine mantel. Choose your favorite ribbon to personalize yours. Whether you prefer red and white for Valentine's Day or something more neutral that can be displayed year round--the possibilities are endless!
For each, I started with a heart shaped wreath form I found at the dollar store.
You'll also need ribbon that will be wrapped around the wire form. As illustrated by my two wreaths, completely different looks can be achieved by your choice of ribbon. The wider the ribbon, the less used. I used 3 1/2 yards for the floral and 4 1/2 yards for the gray burlap.
I tucked the end of the ribbon inside the wire form and started wrapping it around and around the heart shape.
There really isn't a "right" way to do it. Just make sure the exposed form is covered.
The layers will overlap. On the gray wreath, the ribbon edges were already frayed, which gave it a cozy textured look. However on the floral, the edges were unfinished, so I tucked them under as I wrapped for a more polished appearance.
To finish, I hot glued the end of the ribbon at the back of the wreath,
Last, I added a raffia bow. You can choose your preference of trim. If you would like to add the floating hearts from the gray wreath, look here.

MY HEARTFELT THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING FOR FEATURING THIS POST:
Oh! How easy! I actually have one of those forms and was going to do a raggie strip technique (like I did on the one on my kitchen/garage door) but that is very time consuming. This would be much faster and looks just as cute. I have the perfect ribbon for mine! Thanks, Cecilia!

The gray burlap is my favorite! Would look cute in a little girls room too ☺
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize this wreath was flat, it looks like a 3D wreath.

ReplyDeleteLove, Love, Love the floral wreath. Both wreaths are so charming. The string of little hearts just makes the grey burlap wreath special.
DeleteI love both heart wreaths but it was the pink floral that made me get up and run upstairs to my "wreath closet". I had been trying to figure out what I could put on my mantel window for Spring and I remembered that I had a pretty heart wreath. It looks great there so now I have to find somewhere to put the new one I'm going to make. Cute project!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I didn't know that the dollar store sold those heart wreath forms! Do they always have them, or just around the holidays. Going to stop by my dollar store to check to see if they have them. Thanks! All the ones I've been finding are super expensive!
ReplyDeleteBoth wreaths are really cute Cecilia ... but I think I like the floral one the best. I was in Dollar Tree today and forgot to look for that wreath form. Maybe because I was craving chocolate and spent too much time on the candy isle.
ReplyDeleteLove both wreaths, but the floral is so romantic looking. Love quick and easy wreath projects. I'm pinning!

ReplyDeleteLove the floral wreath - would go great with my soon to be craft room!
ReplyDeleteCute and easy! I like the floral with the pink colors the best for Valentine's.
ReplyDeleteCecilia the heart with the floral fabric is perfect for Valentine's day. I also love to wrap fabric to create different wreaths for when the mood strikes. Your burlap one is also very pretty for a more neutral look.
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty and how fast! I love the floral one looks old fashion. Come over and share the love at the Fabulous Valentines Party. The link is over here:
