Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! Today's first fabulous feature is class vintage Fire King, in a pattern I love, Primrose. I own several pieces of the charming floral pattern, but I've never found the luncheon plates before. They are missing the cups, but were priced accordingly, plus these could also serve as small snack trays.
Here's a table setting I shared last year, featuring pretty Primrose with my jadeite.
Though I was tempted to keep all of this week's haul, I already have the sugar bowl and creamer set, so these are Available.
I am also selling two sets of the luncheon plate/snack trays including the matching teacups. Available
Have you ever heard of a courting candle?
You can read the historic legend below. Available
Another pretty vintage dish--anytime I see a platter in such good condition, I grab it! Available
The last two finds from this week are a little unusual. I am keeping both this tree trunk planter...
...and this metal branch and birdhouse for an upcoming spring project. Anyone know the original use of the branch piece?
Until next time, happy hunting!
MY HEARTFELT THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING FOR FEATURING THIS POST:

ReplyDeleteWhat fun finds, great week of thrifting!
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty finds. I've never seen the primrose pattern before yours. Looks so pretty paired with the jadeite. I think the bird on the branch piece is a candle snuffer. At least from the photo that's what it looks like. Great finds!
ReplyDeleteI love the primrose pattern but rarely find it. Looks like you have a nice collection going.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your vintage finds at the Snickerdoodle Create~Bake~Make link party!
DeleteI love your sweet finds! I can just picture ladies at a card table having brunch on those little plates! They are so pretty, & like others have said, I don't recall having seen this pattern before, but it looks great with your jadeite. Looks like you made a nice haul this week.

ReplyDeleteThat Jadeite is just GAWWWGOUS and sets off the primrose so well!!
ReplyDeleteI have heard of courting lamps (smaller oil lamps) that once the oil was gone the courting time was over! :)
ReplyDeleteThat birdhouse and branch piece looks like it could be a candle snuffer. The birdhouse should be open on the bottom and hollow inside if it is. Great finds! 😊
ReplyDeleteYou have the thrifting magic, I tell you. I can never find anything that fabulous!
