Vintage Charm Features of the Week:
Cecilia’s Pick
I always enjoy reading the story behind the project, especially when there is fairy tale inspiration involved. Sam from Raggedy Bits participated in a movie inspired challenge and shared a dreamy DIY project that I would display not only as Valentine decor, but year round. She gives us a detailed tutorial to create our own DIY Farmhouse Paper Rose Fairy Tale Frame and also shares sweet memories of watching The Princess Bride {the movie that inspired the featured quote,} with her younger sister. All the makings of fairy tale charm, in my book!

A while back, Brenda at Unique Junktique obtained a lovely vintage bedroom suite of spool turned Wheeler Reproductions by Jamison. She has plans to do each piece in complementary colors since she prefers the collected look and plans to keep this set for herself. The beautiful dresser was the first piece she transformed. She used a tailored blend of chippy milk paint and it turned out beautifully. She detailed the process to achieve her gorgeous chippy look. I urge you to go see Brenda's Spool Turned Dresser-A Tailored Blend of Chippy Milk Paint for yourself.

Florence over at Vintage Southern Picks is a DIY-er after my own heart. Wanting to make something that would appeal to her girly frou-frou side without alienating her husband, (been there, done that) she came up with a great compromise. Her Doily Lampshade Makeover is an ingenious way to embellish a lampshade with delicate vintage textiles without overdoing the frou-frou. Stop by to find out her secret!

Gina at Victorian Wanna Be astounded me this week with some of her gorgeous vintage and antiques. Here, you see her beautiful Eastlake bedroom set, showcasing an outstanding crazy quilt. You don't want to miss her button collection or the quilt she "stole" for just $17.00--all in her post, Sew Crazy in Love.
