Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! June was a great month for estate sales! First, I found this fabulous jadeite batter bowl--which I did not previously have in my collection--for 50% off and I was thrilled, but wait...there's more and the rest was all 75% off

Estate Sale Salvage: Friday's Find #220

Friday's Find #171

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! I hope you're having a wonderful week. I found some real treasures--the kind I'm not likely to part with! Would you believe, I had just pinned these very dishes as ones to watch for when I found them the following day? Even better, I paid less than .50 for the two plates and cup! You'll be seeing more of these lovelies during the holidays. The pretty Christmas Holly Berry patterned milk glass was made in the sixties by Termocrisa, the brand manufactured in Mexico by Fire-King. Isn't it festive?

Friday's Find #160

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I spent part of the rainy weekend splashing through the puddles to a few sales. First, I went to the sale of several sisters who evidently were quilters. Silly me, wondered if anyone else would be out in the rain or if the sale may have even been cancelled altogether. Ha! There was barely standing room in the packed garage. They were selling tons of fat quarters and crafting supplies and everything was $1. I'd picked out several things and was actually standing in line when I saw bags of Indian corn in this old crock. The corn was priced but the crock didn't appear to be for sale, but of course, I had to ask. Good thing I did-- I got the crock and all of the corn inside for $3! Happy dance!

I'm guessing most of you know me well enough that if I say I found something green, vintage and loved all over, I can only be referring to one thing--jadeite! This week's feature is all about jadeite but have you ever noticed the wide range of prices associated with the pretty green glassware? I've seen this more and more lately and thought it might be helpful to share the actual value of the collectibles.

Friday's Find: A Dresser for Maddux & Answered Prayer!

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, y'all! As a frequent thrifter, I enjoy helping my friends find that certain something they have been hunting. For my friend Carly, it was a dresser for her son, Maddux.  It was back to school time and his closet was overflowing!  When she had a rare day off from her retail job and asked if I wanted to help them hunt, I was all in.  We agreed to meet at at our local thrift store when it opened a little later.  In the meantime, I was on my way to an estate sale.  When I arrived, this guy seemed to be waiting on me! I sent Carly a pic and she immediately texted back, "I want it!"  So of course, I ran to get a sold tag, while she and Maddux dashed over.  We had it loaded up by 9:30 and they still had the whole day in front of them...

Friday's Find: Silver Bunnies

Greetings Friends--glad you are here on thrifty Friday! As a gardener, I am often drawn to birds and bunnies, as you may have guessed from The Bunny Chronicles. When I first saw this precious pair at an estate sale, they weren't priced and I feared might be for display only.  Even so, I picked them up determined to find out and was thrilled when I was informed "Yes, they are for sale, how about $1.50?"  Um...yes, please! Guess what I found out when I got them home?!

Friday's Find: Jadeite Vase

Greetings fellow thrifters! It's my favorite day of the week and I am excited to share my latest fabulous find!  I grabbed this gorgeous Jadeite vase from an estate sale, thinking it might be a reproduction. I assumed this for two reasons.  First, although I collect Jadeite, I had not seen one like it before.  Second, it was not marked on the bottom; usually Fire-King is, but not always. Guess what?! I assumed wrong!  With a little research I learned that it was manufactured by Fire-King in the 40s and that I really did get a good deal! Happy dance! Of course, my newest pretty is right at home among my collection.

Friday's Find: Garden Sign & Vintage Hankies

TGITF Friends! I was overjoyed when I saw the photos posted from my favorite estate sale company advertising today's sale.  It appeared to be a gorgeous home with lots of Vintage goodies and the photos did not disappoint!  It was crowded, but I took my time browsing.  The sale was beautifully staged and it was just one of those houses that was fun to explore!  Explore, I did and I discovered this pretty little sign right away.  As a writer, I am drawn to worded trinkets and this delightful garden piece was calling my name!
