Happy Tuesday, Friends! It's time for another Creative Craft Blog Hop! Today I'll show you how to use a little paint to transform holiday clearance into charming gingerbread ornaments. Join me and my crafty blogger friends for creative seasonal inspiration

If you've hopped over after visiting our host for the month Donna from Modern on Monticello, welcome! When I scored these velvety bird ornaments on clearance after the holidays, I immediately envisioned "ginger-birds" so I tucked them away for early Christmas crafting. Ready to make your own?

You can use these easy painting tips to create a similar look on any gingery-brown decor in just 2 easy steps!
1. Start by using a white pencil to draw your design--dots, hearts, and dotted lines are all simple designs that mimic gingerbread icing.
2. Paint over your penciled designs with light pink or white paint. After they dry, they are ready to hang on the tree--that's all there is to it!
TIP: Use the end of your paintbrush to quickly create uniform dots.

These are adorable. I know I wouldn't have thought about changing them. So simple but a great impact.
ReplyDeleteJust when I think there can't possible be a cuter idea using birds, you come up with Ginger Birds! I love these Cecilia!!! I'll have to keep my eyes open for some brown flocked birds.
