Happy Tuesday, Friends! It's time for another Creative Craft Blog Hop! Today I'll show you how to use a little paint to transform holiday clearance into charming gingerbread ornaments. Join me and my crafty blogger friends for creative seasonal inspiration

If you've hopped over after visiting our host for the month Donna from Modern on Monticello, welcome! When I scored these velvety bird ornaments on clearance after the holidays, I immediately envisioned "ginger-birds" so I tucked them away for early Christmas crafting. Ready to make your own?

You can use these easy painting tips to create a similar look on any gingery-brown decor in just 2 easy steps!
1. Start by using a white pencil to draw your design--dots, hearts, and dotted lines are all simple designs that mimic gingerbread icing.
2. Paint over your penciled designs with light pink or white paint. After they dry, they are ready to hang on the tree--that's all there is to it!
TIP: Use the end of your paintbrush to quickly create uniform dots.

These are adorable. I know I wouldn't have thought about changing them. So simple but a great impact.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Gina! Happy crafting!
DeleteWhat a clever way to reuse clearance ornaments. I especially liked sketching the design in white pencil first, then painting over it in light pink or white. Using the end of a paintbrush for uniform dots is a handy tip, and the finished gingerbread birds look so festive.
