Happy Monday, Friends! Today I'm sharing a project that has been on my to-do list for some time. I'm not sure why it kept getting pushed to the back burner--do you have any of those projects? Well, I am happy to say, I finally tackled painting my breakfast table in the kitchen...

This vintage set was given to me by a neighbor over twenty years ago. She had received the iron patio set from her mother-in-law. It's likely from the 60s and the tabletop had been neglected. Unlike me, my neighbor didn't appreciate the potential of second-hand furniture, so she offered it to me.

Back then, I painted the top with a hammered copper paint and for a short time, I used it outdoors before bringing it inside to my kitchen. You may remember when I used chalk paint to refresh the matching chairs a few years ago.

Probably part of the reason painting the table hasn't been a priority is because I so often use vintage tablecloths, but it was past due for a refresh. Since the chalk paint has been durable on the chairs, I used the same paint for the table. {Find it here!}

I've mentioned before that this is my go-to paint because sanding isn't needed. Before painting, I wiped everything down thoroughly.

Several coats were needed to cover the previous copper and red. Here's a view after two coats on the base and one on the tabletop.

And here's how it looks after three coats...

...and a better view of how it looks in my kitchen. In the spirit of keeping it real, I have to admit I didn't realize I was out of wax until I started the project. Before using it regularly, I will be applying a coat (or two) of clear wax. {Look here to see how I apply wax to a similar project!}

Yes, my oven is green...and yes, I really did paint it! That was several years ago, and I haven't regretted it a bit!

I was actually gonna say I love your oven! Now I love it even more knowing that you painted it! And as for the table you know I'm always a fan of white paint.....xo Kathleen
