Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! Can you believe it's the first Friday's Find of October?! This week I'm sharing a recent thrift store find upcycle--a low back Windsor chair...
When I came across the chair at one of my favorite thrift stores for $5, I didn't waste any time grabbing it! It didn't need any repairs or tightening, only a little paint.
Fortunately, this didn't need a dramatic transformation like my ugly duckling dresser, but if you look closely, you can see some scratches. Also, I wanted to brighten the light taupe color to white. I lightly sanded the scratched places and gave it a single coat of White Vintage Effect Wash.
Here's how it looks with my vintage vanity office nook.
My next post will be on Tuesday, where I'll be joining the Embracing Fall tour--see you there!
Until next time, happy hunting!
Love your new chair. I have my late grandmother's "vase and ring" turnings chairs which were dragged out of the cellar for holidays; they definitely need a coat--or 2--of white paint. I can see 2 small kids (non squabbling) sitting on this chair at your holiday table!
ReplyDeleteI would have grabbed this too! Love the paint job, and love your pretty space. xo Kathleen
ReplyDeleteGreat find! I would have snagged it too. Love the modest back - that chair could fit in so many different places. It wold be perfect for one of my little girl's bedrooms.
