Happy Monday, Friends! As the temperatures soar, it can be a challenge to keep outdoor spaces that look inviting. Today I'm sharing 5 thrifty "P"s to brighten your summer space...
Pottery
My favorite pottery is Talavera which is always bright and colorful. Although it can be pricey, if you shop wisely, it doesn't have to be. Sometimes, pots or garden accents can be found at stores like Ross or Marshalls.
I found this dish at a garage sale--you might be surprised by what's hiding underneath! Talavera also comes in blue and white and green and white, or shop your area for local pottery.
Paint
Those of you who follow my blog know there are few things that escape my paint brush (or a spray can) when it comes to thrifty transformations! I've spray painted faded patio umbrellas...
...and transformed a garage sale bird bath from plastic to a terracotta patina!
Pillows
Over the years, I've featured almost as many pillow projects as I have painting projects! I've shared how to craft a no-sew pillow from a tote bag...
Plants
Shop thrift stores and yard sales for vintage vessels and unique containers for potted plants...
...and remember to plant seeds, too! I try to keep zinnia seeds on hand to toss out before it rains. Look closely, and you'll see a little friend enjoying the zinnias on the trellis in my flower pot!
Porch, Patio, or Place Settings
Whether you're blessed with a porch, patio, or your outdoor space is limited, you can create a cozy nook to sit a spell...
...enjoy a romantic picnic

... or a glass of refreshing lemonade!
Is that a little anole sunning itself? I am crushing on the metal shelf painted bright yellow!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many people are gonna notice that little lizard? Never seen one before; love him! We have occasional salamanders in Maine but they hide under things! I really enjoyed seeing everything! Just bought a $1 bookshelf; it might be cute styled as a potting area for my booth! I think I have enough planters and flower frogs to do it! Yeah, another project!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou just made me smile with these beautiful pictures! Happy 4th to you sweet lady. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
