Happy Monday, Friends! The Texas sun is hard on my outdoor furniture, and I've learned to accept that fresh paint is needed every few years. Today I'm sharing some outdoor bistro chairs that I recently gave some much needed love and attention...
It had been several years since I painted a pair of outdoor bistro chairs blue from the original black. The blue had faded, and due to our wet spring, the paint on the seats had started peeling.
I started by using sandpaper to remove the flaking and peeling paint--ugly gloves and all!
After wiping the chairs clean, I decided to refresh them with a sunny yellow called Golden Sunset. Do you have one of these sprayer gadgets? I find it really helps the spray paint nozzle from clogging--especially with the paint and primer varieties. Plus, it's much easier on your hands!
Here's how the chair looked with fresh paint...
...I wanted to add a little something special and decided my bee stencil was the perfect complement to the color. I used a makeup sponge and black patio paint.
I purposely chose to place the bee near the edge of the seat rather than the center, so it wouldn't be covered if I decide to add outdoor throw pillows, which is likely!
