Ooey Gooey Dark Chocolate Chip Pie

Greetings Friends! Hope you are having a relaxing weekend. Would pie make it better? Of course it would!  This dark chocolate chip pie is a family favorite and can be whipped up in a jiffy...

The simple recipe has a short cut--a ready made Oreo cookie crust. Here's the rest of the ingredients:

First melt the butter in the microwave and allow to cool.  Next beat in the eggs and add vanilla to cooled butter. Then, stir in the halves: 1/2 cup each of flour, sugar and brown sugar.

Last, add the Special Dark chocolate chips,

pour into the Oreo crust, and bake at 325 for 40 minutes or until top is golden brown.

Best served warm and I like mine with just a dollop of whip cream.  It's ooey gooey rich and oh so delicious! I'm reminded of one of my favorite movie quotes in Steel Magnolias when Dolly Parton's character Truvy is referring to her cuppa, cuppa, cuppa cake and  says, "I serve it with ice cream to cut the sweetness," ;)
