Happy Wednesday and welcome to another 15 Minute Fix! This week I'm sharing the quick upcycle of a recent yard sale find...
When I came across this sweet framed art at a yard sale, I remembered the floral painting technique that was popular in the eighties. The owner/artist confirmed my recollection when she shared she had painted it in an art class around that time. I was drawn to it and since it was $1, brought it home with me.
The wooden frame was in good condition, but my goal was to brighten the art, so I gave it a coat of gold spray paint: 5 minutes
While it dried, I cleaned up the glass* but decided it still needed a little something. I considered adding a word to the center of the floral wreath with gold script stickers...
...like this!
Last, I popped the frame back on. *Glass cleaning, letters and frame: 10 minutes. I'm h-a-p-p-y with the results ;)
Join us tomorrow for the Vintage Charm party!
Cecilia, that is adorable. If the artist sees it she may just want it back. Great recycle!
ReplyDeleteYou really made the artwork shine, and brought it up to modern.
ReplyDeleteThe gold frame and lettering in the center goes much better with the art than the black! It really stands out now :)
