Greetings Friends! As much as I love collecting pretty dishes, I cannot stand clutter. With all of my recent Vintage finds, I came to the conclusion that it was time to de-clutter. I decided to give away a set of beautiful china that I rarely use. My friend said she would gladly receive it, which makes it easier to part with. Here is my cabinet before removing the gifted china and editing:
I focused on one shelf at a time. First, by taking everything off the shelf, then rearranging and organizing as I went along. Once I figured out the placement, I added some wide burlap ribbon for liner. This turquoise burlap really sets off the creamy china.
I enjoy the juxtaposition of mixing my more formal Noritake china with Pyrex and Fire-King as displayed here and also when setting my table. Cherish your lovely dishes by using them--don't leave them sitting on a shelf when they can bring joy to those who gather at your table!
Red polka dot ribbon--yes, please! Having the extra space gave me the room to showcase my lovelies, plus there is still room on the right for stacking future Vintage finds.
A view from top to bottom...much better!
Ta-daa! Mission accomplished and I must say, I am pleased with the results! How have you rearranged your life lately? In your home, family or schedule--I would love to hear your thoughts!
Love the new look. I have actually re-arranged my life by blocking out chunks of time so certain things, that are important to me on a daily basis, don't get scheduled over. Making a point to put them on my To Do list so they don't get overlooked.
ReplyDeleteLovely,There's something about pretty Pyrex that I love. I am going through the same thing at the moment. Have to have clear outs to fit in more :)
