Russian Folk Art: Friday's Find #238

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! There are times when I come across an item during my thrifting adventures that I am inexplicably drawn to. It may not be something that I would use in my decor, but there is an intuition that I've found something special. When it's an item that I haven't seen before, like this framed hand painted tile, it requires a little research on my part...

Friday's Find: Vintage Hazel Atlas Creamer

Hello Friends! So glad you stopped by for another thrifty Friday! Today's fabulous find is from my recent trip to Denver when I went to see Dear Firstborn graduate with honors AND be honored as Outstanding Graduate in Art History! Pardon me while I brag a little--I am just so proud of her!  After all of the graduation festivities, DF took me to a sweet little antique shop with great prices where I scored this pretty Vintage pitcher. It is the perfect yellow for my kitchen and don't you love it filled with Blue Sage? The inside has a milk glass look, like many Fire-King and Pyrex pieces. However, it is not marked and I have not been able to find any like it. If anyone can identify the manufacturer. Update: Vintage Hazel Atlas Platonite Creamer I sure would appreciate your feedback and as always, I would love to hear about your most recent treasures!

Friday's Find: Gray Laurel Fire-King

Greetings Friends! Not only is today's feature fabulous Fire-King, it's also gorgeous gray! I really thought I had seen all of the lovely patterns until I came across this dreamy Gray Laurel manufactured by Anchor Hocking from the 40s-60s. It has the texture of milk glass with that trademark opalescent luster.  You are probably thinking that I really don't need more dishes which is true...Did I mention they were 75% off?!  Did I also mention that gray and turquoise is my new favorite color combination? Sigh...if thrifting is my addiction, I have to confess Vintage dishes are my drug of choice.  Hi, my name is Cecilia and I'm a dish-aholic :)

Friday's Find: Fire-King Primrose!

After making a long list of sales to attend, I started my morning in anticipation.  I attended an estate sale, six yard sales and a thrift store without any luck.  I was starting to think I might go home empty handed but still had a few more stores to try.  At my last stop I struck gold--or should I say primroses!  Fire-King Primrose was manufactured only from 1960-1962.  It is a pretty little floral pattern set against white milky glass.  About a year ago,  I bought two teacups with saucers and some baking dishes for a great price at an estate sale.  However, I never purchased any plates because the only time I have seen them, the price was too high.  Today I found two for 50% off-- perseverance is a virtue when thrifting!
