Spring in the Texas Hill Country

Happy Monday, Friends! Come take a virtual stroll with me and enjoy some beautiful Texas blooms from my neck of the woods. We'll start with our state flower--beautiful bluebonnets on the river trail where I walk several times a week.

One of my favorite things about walking the trails is gazing at the huge trees. I love how they seem to be forming a window looking onto the Guadalupe, here.

There are always plenty of ducks in the vicinity, and usually deer and squirrels, too.

This lovely flowering vine caught my eye.

I'm partial to walking along the river, but the trails wind and curve for miles. There are several different places to park depending on which portion I feel like exploring on a given day.

Now let's check out what's blooming in my garden! My upcycled garden sign has weathered well since last summer.

On the inside of the gate are my favorite pink knock-out roses.

Last but not least, yellow knock-out roses!

  5. Those trees are beautiful with the twisting tree trunks. What a wonderful place to walk and get lost in thought. Your garden is also beautiful. I wish I had a green thumb so I could walk out the back door to read a book. So inviting!

  6. We have had RAIN for about 10 days here in Maine; low lying areas have flooded and roads are washing out. Although I have a small strip of daffodils in full bloom, my rugosa is just starting to leaf out! I so appreciated seeing the beautiful colors of your flowers!
