Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! Today I'm excited to share a find that's been on my thrift store hunting list for a long time--a vintage head vase! I've been on the lookout for ages, but previously had only seen them at antique stores and out of my price range. I was so happy to find this little cutie that I was inspired to create a vintage floral vignette...
Isn't she darling, and doesn't she look as if she was just made for my kitchen? She needed a little love--just some cleaning. Once I added some colorful garden zinnias, I placed her with my vintage jadeite collection.
I realize most of you have seen my favorite vintage collection multiple times. I've mentioned before that this repurposed potting stand turned dish hutch is the first thing I see when I come in my back door and is a favorite place to style seasonal vignettes. It's a cheerful spot that always brings a smile to my face. I added some fragrant dried lavender bouquets that will transition nicely into fall. I also repurposed one of my vintage flower frogs as a small French flower sign. Doesn't my little vase look right at home?
Before I go, I want to share some vintage goodies I recently listed in my Vintage Market on Instagram. Click on the links for more details!
Until next time, happy hunting!
Oh, she is adorable...and I love the flowers you chose for her.
ReplyDeleteShe is SO cute, Cecilia! And she looks perfect in your vignette! Great find!
ReplyDeleteOh this post just gave me a giggle and a huge smile. I remember these little planters from the 50's. And she's perfect with your jadeite collection which is amazing by the way! Grins and so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love how her mouth is such a heart; I'm sure you'll use her in some Valentine and St. Patrick's Day vignettes as well!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly know how to find the cuties! I almost started trying to collect the head vases several years ago, but found they were going to be too expensive and too hard to find. Yours is cute as a button! I never find anything these days...but I did find some old seam binding & lace yesterday that I can use for making journals and other crafts. I was happy, especially since it all cost me only $2:) Happy Hunting!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your find! She's way too cute and, yes, perfect for your kitchen!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet! I have seen them while thrifting and they are pricey. I finally got one, a gift from a dear friend. She was cleaning out her dining room cupboard and asked me if I wanted anything. I said I would love the head vase, so she gave it to me. It was from her mother. I was thrilled!
ReplyDeleteI love her! What a sweet vignette!
ReplyDeleteShe really does fit in perfectly! I've noticed a few modern head vases in the home decor catalogs this past year or two (even at Target!) but I didn't like them. But this vintage cutie? I like! xo Kathleen
