Detour to the Lavender Fairy and Scented Miniature Garden

Happy Wednesday, Friends! Today's project was almost another 15 Minute Fix; that was my original intention.  I had to take a little detour to get there, but fortunately the finished results were just as I envisioned...

You may remember this glass mushroom jar featured in my weekly Friday's Find post several weeks ago.  I thought it would make a unique miniature garden, so I got busy.

You know me and aromatherapy--I wanted it to be scented so I added dried lavender buds.

Next, a tiny white picket fence, also a thrifted find and some sparkly butterfly stickers from my craft stash.

Of course I needed a flower fairy to tend the lavender. I got this copper colored pixie 40% off at Hobby Lobby. I love the detail and also how the color complements the lavender.

Isn't this vintage thimble the perfect fairy sized flower pot? You can read about my Peter Pan kisses here.

As a finishing touch, I added a tiny ladybug from a yard sale bundle.

I thought it was just right...until I replaced the top of the jar.

No Bueno!  I didn't anticipate the jar lid placement would have such a confining appearance and I didn't like it. My little lavender fairy looked like she was in mushroom prison!

On to Plan B, so I shopped my house and came up with this galvanized lantern. Moving time! First the lavender...

...and then I repeated each step until the lavender fairy was home in her garden. Much better and it smells heavenly!
