Repurposed Vintage Milk Can Snowman

Happy Wednesday, Friends! Today I'm sharing a fun project to add a little whimsy to your holiday curb appeal. Yes, I know Thanksgiving is still a week away. {If you missed my vintage Thanksgiving mantel, you can see it here.} It's one of my favorite holidays, so much so, that I'll be stepping away from the computer screen all next week to spend time with family. The thing is, I really like to savor the Christmas season which for me, means getting a head start on holiday crafts, and that brings me back to today's project. She's really too feminine to be called a snowman--isn't she sassy? Come see how I repurposed this vintage milk can and dressed her up with things I already had on hand...

How to Chalk Paint Vintage Dining Chairs: 2 Different Techniques

Hi there, Friends! Recently I updated the vintage dining chairs for my kitchen table with chalk paint. Undecided if I wanted to commit to painting all four, I started by painting two with my favorite brush on chalk paint. Then, after living with purposely mismatched chairs for a few months, I decided I was ready to paint the other two. When I was blessed to receive two cans of Rust-Oleum Chalked spray paint in a giveaway from Lauren at Wonderfully Made, I chose the Linen White shade so I could compare the two paints and share my results with you. Thank you to Lauren and Rust-Oleum! {This is not a sponsored post but I have included affiliate links for DIYers. See full disclosure here.}

Refresh Your Home: DIY Painted Furniture

Happy Wednesday Friends! Recently, I have been on a mission to refresh my home and have been painting like crazy!  Since my hallway, dining and living spaces are freshly painted I wanted to upgrade a few accent pieces as well. The great thing about painting furniture is that you can always repaint and believe me, I do!  I usually start with a light sanding, apply satin latex paint with a foam brush and finish with a light coat of wax. Here, I painted the sofa table from sage green to gray.

July Show and Tell

Happy Wednesday Friends!  Need a little mid-week inspiration?
I asked my resourceful blog members to share some of their recent finds and upcycled projects and I'm sharing the love...

When her daughter downsized for a move, Stacy salvaged this wine rack and gave its natural wood a makeover.   She mixed a chalk paint recipe from Pinterest using inexpensive flat paint and unsanded grout. She finished  by brushing on dark stain, wiping it off and then setting the finish with wax. The results speak for themselves--cheers to her charming barn red transformation!
