Happy Monday, Friends! I'm not one to go all out for St. Patrick's Day, but I do have a sweet tooth. Today I'm sharing a tasty St. Paddy's treat that you can whip up in no time...
What you'll need:
Baked sugar cookies
Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Chips
Shamrock or other St. Paddy's sprinkles
My friend Carly's son, Maddux, has been hanging out here after school, and on Valentine's Day we decorated sugar cookies. When I had some dough leftover, I decided to decorate some with shamrock sprinkles--and of course--chocolate! To make your own, bake your favorite sugar cookies and allow them to cool. (I used refrigerated cookie dough for these!)
The thing that makes these extra scrumptious is dark chocolate. Next, melt Hershey's Special Dark chocolate chips--about 1 cup per dozen cookies. (I melt mine in the microwave, using 30 second intervals, so they don't burn.)
Last: To dip and sprinkle the cookies, I placed the melted chocolate and sprinkles side by side. After dipping each cookie, I immediately used a spoon to sprinkle the shamrocks, instead of waiting until they were all dipped to add sprinkles. This helps the sprinkles "stick" before the chocolate hardens. Enjoy!
Join us Wednesday, for the Vintage Charm link party!
I love how cute the decorated cookies look and so perfect for St. Patrick's Day! :)

ReplyDeleteThose are adorable and I bet Maddux enjoyed making the Valentine cookies! My kids always helped with holiday (Christmas, Val, St Pat's, Halloween) sugar cookies; my cooky cutter collection is another addiction. She cut, he sprinkled--saved arguments. My granddaughter only wanted to eat cooky dough! I am itching for a soda bread or scones; I want to try snipping up dried apricots instead of raisins. My late Irish m-i-l gave me the recipe and loved it with a "cuppa."
ReplyDeleteThese looks so good, Cecilia!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by!!
