Greetings Friends! You've heard me say it before, and you'll probably hear me say it again. My name is Cecilia, and I am a dishaholic! This gorgeous set of Liberty Blue was such a steal, I just couldn't resist...
I have always loved blue and white table settings. This pretty ironstone Staffordshire set was made in England from historic copper engravings. The dinner plate features Independence Hall,
the bread and butter plate, Monticello and...
...the berry bowl, Betsy Ross.
I think it's my favorite-- especially with fresh strawberries!
The linens are from my thrifted collection and I picked the wildflowers from a field near my house.
Here's a view of the table....
MY HEARTFELT THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING FOR FEATURING THIS POST:
Beautiful Cecilia ... love the china and your setting looks so pretty. You will have trouble parting with those. The wildflowers in the white pitcher is perfect with this setting.
ReplyDeleteI like the blue. I am also very partial to turquoise now! My dining room/kitchen/guest bath and entryway are turquoise!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Blue and white is always so pretty. Those wildflowers are so unique!
ReplyDeleteOh that blue table just screams summertime! I am in love with the look!
ReplyDeleteI love those; especially since I've seen both of those sites! I have one of those flowers in my yard - a volunteer brought by birds I'm sure. My mom called it Snow on the Prairie. They are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe dishes are lovely, Cecelia...and the strawberries look beautiful against the blue and white pattern!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to see that you have my most favorite set in the whole world. In 1976 Albertson's food change sold this beautiful set with some many purchases of groceries. Because of family that worked there at the time I was given the whole set! 12 place setting and bowels, gravy boat, tea pot, many more pieces that I can think of. I raised my family on that setting. Of course through the years a piece or two got broken but I still had a pretty full set up until about 6 years ago. My youngest son said that if he could have anything in the world when I was gone it would be this set. So I packed it up and stored it until he got married and had a place of his own. That day came and I was thrilled to give it to him. But because of his spouse not liking them the whole set was sent to GOOD WILL! :( It looks like someone else is enjoying them. I was so said. I did keep one large plate, and have started to find a few more here and there to add. Miss them a lot. Enjoy yours and don't give them to anyone! lol Hugs, Jo
ReplyDeleteOh, some of my favorites! I have Betsy on red plates. The blue and white is so pretty. You truly have found some treasures!
ReplyDeleteThe Liberty Blue does look great in the settings! Good job.
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous! I could not stop staring at it. It's so detailed and intricate, and pairs so well with the white doily. Great find!
ReplyDeleteHello Cecilia,
ReplyDeleteI am a dishaholic too. My basement is full of vintage china. In fact, there are dishes everywhere. I buy them from antiques shops, thrift shops, ebay. You name it, I can't one up.
Your blue and white transferware is beautiful. And the color is perfect for displaying anything yellow or red.
Have a great week,
Janet
