Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! On this first Friday of the new year, I thought I would feature some Vintage finds from others who gifted them to me! Did you notice the sweet little laundry lady in my header? She is one of the Vintage gifts I was blessed to receive. I am always thrilled to receive Vintage treasures and these were all so fabulous, I couldn't wait to share them with you...
The week before Christmas I hosted a small Christmas dessert. My local blogging buddy Audrey attended and gave me this adorable embroidered Vintage laundry bag. I think I may have let out a squeal when I opened it! I am absolutely smitten and wasted no time framing her. She is hanging proudly in my kitchen next to my laundry room door. Audrey used to own an antique store, has impeccable taste and writes a delightful blog. This lady knows her stuff--stop by and show her some love ;)
My next two gifts were waiting for me on Christmas Eve at the cabin. My mom has been friends with Linda since they were in grade school and they still meet for monthly dinners and call each other about the latest episode of Nashville! From the time I began my blogging journey, Mom and Linda have been two of my biggest cheerleaders. Since Linda is a loyal reader, she knows how much I love Jadeite and snagged this vegetable bowl from an estate sale, just for me. Woo-hoo! I never met a piece of Jadeite I didn't love and better yet I didn't have a bowl like it--until now! You're the best, Linda!
Last but not least, Mom brought me this gorgeous silver platter that belonged to her late mother-in-law. I don't have to tell you how versatile a great piece like this is. Love it--thanks Mom! Did you receive any Vintage gifts for Christmas? Do tell!
Until next time, happy hunting!
That vintage laundry bag looks adorable in a frame! Now I will be on the look for one ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove that vintage laundry bag framed...so cute! I do love vintage gifts and while I didn't receive any this year I may have bought myself a few!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Yes Cecilia, you did squeal when you saw the laundry bag. So happy you like it and it looks great framed ... perfect for your house. Your other gifted vintage finds are wonderful too. I know you were happy to add the bowl to your Jadeite collection.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link-back to my blog.
Wishing you a very Happy New Year.

I didn't receive any vintage gifts but I did receive money to buy some, which in turn will reward me by going junk'n real soon. One thing I bought was a old farm house scale, I had to scrape the mud off of it and sand shook out of the bottom. It really did clean up nice. The patina is great. It came from Tennessee through a Etsy shop. Nice platter. Jo

ReplyDeleteI can see why you squealed when you saw the laundry bag - I squealed when I saw the photo of it :) It's adorable and looks very pretty in the frame.

I love Audrey and her blog--such a sweet gift from her. The jadite and platter are lovely gifts as well. Happy New Year, Cecilia!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that people know just what to buy for you! I don't usually get vintage gifts but sometimes give them!
ReplyDeleteYour laundry bag is adorable and what a good idea it was to frame it. I love my jadeite and silver too! My mom always gives me a few vintage treasures for Christmas. This year she gave me a box of Shiny Brites and a gorgeous table cloth. Thanks for sharing your treasures at Vintage Inspiration Party.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet laundry bag! Looks great in a frame - there's just something about old embroidery, isn't there? Nothing else like it...beautiful gifts - what great friends you have! Catherine (latest follower of your thrifting adventures!) :)
ReplyDeleteWell now, I did not know that you and Audrey were local friends. She is definitely a talented lady! How fun is that? Love the bag she gave you, and woot woot! Another piece of jadite. Love it!! I went to an estate sale yesterday and hoped to find a piece. Nope, no jadite, but I snagged a green depression glass measuring cup. It's a sweet piece! Wonderful gifts Cecilia! Thanks for sharing them with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
