Happy Tuesday, Friends! Today I am delighted to join the Summer Tablescape blog hop hosted by Rita from Panoply. Join me for a picnic brunch in the garden under the Texas Mountain Laurel before the summer heat chases away the pretty lavender-hued blooms
If you hopped over after visiting Ricki from The Bookish Dilettante, welcome to my Texas garden!
While more casual dishes may be your preference for alfresco dining, gathering your favorite "indoor" dishes on a tray is an easy way to create a special picnic setting. I decided to pair my vintage jadeite with charming thrifted floral saucers.
I like to start by choosing the best place for my picnic--this time under the lovely blooming tree--and then I select a quilt from my collection.
I opted to keep the menu simple.
Muffin tin omelettes are perfect for a picnic brunch. You can find my recipe for these with a Mediterranean flavor, here. Fresh fruit makes the perfect side--I chose grapes.
I wanted to highlight the laurel blooms, so I completed the picnic setting with a few potted succulents. You can see how I propagate them, here.
You can also check out recent garden decor makeovers, plus what's blooming...
...and where I like to hang out!
I'm so glad you stopped by today! Next up is Maureen from Red Cottage Chronicles, then be sure to visit the rest of today's featured bloggers!

ReplyDelete*giggles*
First of all, the very pretty saucer or plate from the first photo with the greens and purples are so pretty! (My first Oh, wow!) And then I love your pretty quilt, your collection of jadeite (I think that's what it is) and your boho swing. How cute! I love green. The older I get, I like it more and more! Thanks for your link to the muffin recipe. My oncologist put me on the Mediterranean Diet, so I will try them! Happy Summer!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty tray for brunch in your garden with your vintage jadeite Cecelia! The muffin tin omelettes sound so tasty. So happy to hop with you again, Happy Summer ♥
Cecelia, your tray is so pretty set up under your Mountain Laurel tree with its gorgeous purple blossoms! The thrifted saucers look fabulous on your vintage jadeite and your menu sounds delicious! ReplyDeleteCecilia, a lovely tray with your vintage jadeite dishware. They are a lovely shade of green. how special to dine under your Mountain Laurel tree. You tin muffins look yummy, I love your little space with the swing, so soft and feminine. A pleasure hopping with you. Happy summer.
ReplyDeleteCecelia, for me the Mountain Laurels are a real treat. I love their sweet purple blooms and wish they lasted longer. Your tea tray is sheer delight. I love the way you have mixed the jadeite with the thrifted floral saucers. Your tray presentation is truly lovely! The muffins look yummy. Thanks for the inspiration. Happy Summer!
ReplyDeleteI love the lavender color plates and your quilt coupled with the jadeite, Cecilia. Your brunch looks delicious. I love Mediterranean cuisine, and those seem so simple to make, and you could add any number of additional ingredients to this recipe (pinned, thank you!). Texas is so deceptive with its weather. Right now it appears idyllic, but I know from you and a few other bloggers it becomes unbearable later in summer. Enjoy it while it lasts, and thank you for being part of the blog hop!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely display. Everything is so pretty . Thank You for sharing.

Cecilia, I always enjoy your jadeite collection. Your new thrifted floral plates look beautiful on your jadeite. Those muffins look so appetiziing and your mountain laurel and roses are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh Cecelia - that Jadeite is crazy-beautiful! I mean wow - it's so creamy and lovely!! What a beautiful collection you have. I really like how you mixed it with the china and succulents - it's so soothing - like Aloe - to all the summer heat! It's especially lovely when paired with the purple laurel- GORGEOUS!!! Thank you for sharing this serene setting! I've pinned it!! Happy Summer! ❤️ Jennifer @ Celebrating Everyday Life ❤️
ReplyDeleteThis is so charming, Cecilia! And it would be so lovely coming to brunch under your blooming laurel. I always enjoy seeing your jadeite. Muffin tin omelettes is a wonderful idea for two -- or many! Happy summer!
ReplyDeleteCecilia, I too would like a seat at your charming tray brunch under the beautiful blooming laurel. I like the muffin omelets, for two or even a large buffet (which I did for 20 once).
ReplyDeleteCecilia, what a perfect treat. I love all of your garden flowers, especially your laurel. Something I do not think would grow in such harsh weather here in Wisconsin. It is a backyard of tranquility and your outdoor table with your collection of jadeite contrasting with the purple blooms even adds to the serenity. I love succulents too. Your delicious muffins are such a treat to make the time in the outdoors even more special and relaxing. Gorgeous. Happy Summer.
ReplyDeleteCecilia, your green-themed garden table is so soft and feminine. What a lovely color for a summer garden brunch.
ReplyDeleteCecilia, what a darling table you have set! A girl after my own heart. I am all for using my "formal" pieces when dining al fresco, and I often do! Your jadeite pieces are so charming, and those floral plates are perfect for a summer picnic!
ReplyDeleteYour table is fabulous Cecilia. I love the Jadeite as always and so many great details. The floral plates and that swing really caught my eye! Wishing you a lovely day. XO- MaryJo
ReplyDeleteLove the simple tea cup hanging from your trellis. I never think of those simple nods when it comes to the outdoors. Thank you for sharing Cecilia.
