Happy Monday, Friends! I am delighted to be joining the Bloggers' Best Summer Home Tours graciously hosted by Kelly from The Tattered Pew. If you're starting to anticipate a seasonal refresh, join us today and each day through the week for gorgeous decor inspiration from 28 bloggers
But first, we'll pass through the dining room. It's no secret that I adore floral-inspired decor and this rose adorned pillow complements my collected vintage transferware gallery wall.
...and also an early summer mantel featuring my heirloom garden roses displayed in another cherished vintage collection--milk glass.
Now we'll head into the hallway. Although its narrow layout isn't ideal for photography, I use the space to showcase curated family photographs like this nostalgic keepsake memory box. (The turquoise-framed photographs are me as a child.)
The custom built-in cabinet used to house homeschooling supplies. Now it and the handmade jelly cupboard are used for seasonal storage. The vintage typewriter was passed down from my mother.
This sweet floral-topped birdhouse was a recent Goodwill score. It's nice to occasionally find decor that doesn't need an upcycle but I did add the whimsical Home Tweet Home sign.
On the right side of the hallway is a gallery wall of thrifted and gifted art, including a beautiful postcard that Dear Firstborn purchased from the Georgia O'Keeffe museum in Santa Fe and sent to me for Mother's Day. Stay tuned for my tips for crafting gifted greeting card art next month!
At the end of the hallway more collectibles are displayed...
...atop a stack of vintage luggage, including the gold mesh bags, an engraved lipstick tube, and my mother's lace wedding gloves.
With the exception of the gloves, they were all thrifted finds, including the mirror. Isn't this beaded bag lovely?
To the left is the doorway to the guest bedroom --it was originally Youngest Daughter's room. In fact, she chose the Morning Glory hued paint for the accent wall.
I found 95% of the decor in this room from estate sales, thrift stores, and yard sales, including the brass bed frame.
The wicker chest and Windsor chair were both $5 yard sale finds--all they needed was a fresh coat of paint (and new knobs for the chest.)
The beautiful bluebonnet landscape was a gift from a friend.
The caged bird silhouette looks surprisingly realistic hanging in the corner.
If you've seen some of my outdoor tablescapes, you probably know that I'm slightly obsessed with vintage quilts.
I dug through a box of fabric at a yard sale and discovered this beautiful cross-stitch and then I gave a grungy thrift store frame a makeover to create one of my all-time favorite makeovers. You can see how I did it, here!
Don't you love it when thrifted scores purchased at different times and places complement each other beautifully?
I used thrifted plates to create the mosaic door on this yard sale nightstand. True confession: It was a labor of love, but did I love the process? NOPE!
This week I am joining some of my blogging friends for the Bloggers’ Best Summer Home Tours. Twenty eight talented and creative women will be opening their homes up for you to tour all week long. You can visit each summer home tour by clicking the links below.

You have lots of wonderful collections and vignettes, Cecilia. I'm always impressed that you get so much of your decor at thrift stores and estates sales. Wish we had more of those here in So Cal!
I loved seeing the "rest" of your house! I always enjoy seeing peoples' treaures. We both enjoy blue and white china, milk glass, and pink roses! You display things so well; I am still working on learning how to do it! I had to smile when I saw your chenille bedspreads; I remember awakening from a nap on my parents bed with chenille imprints all over my face!

Believer, herb gardener, dishaholic, lover of dark chocolate, Southern girl, and thrift store junkie. I’m passionate about finding beauty in imperfection. Join me as I hunt vintage treasures and transform thrift store finds. Check out my home and garden projects to see how easy it is to create a beautiful home without spending a lot of money!
I adore decorating and gardening but as a single parent have always needed to do both on a budget. Thrifting-- my all inclusive verb for shopping resale shops, thrift stores, estate and yard sales is not just my hobby but rather a lifestyle. It supports my habit of collecting Vintage dishes and Pyrex and over the years has proven invaluable for decorating and re-decorating. I am passionate about transforming and repurposing cast away furniture and love furnishing my home with pieces that have their own history. It has saved me more pennies than I can count and is the perfect solution to almost any dilemma. Your child comes home from school and informs you that he must dress like his favorite super hero TOMORROW? Your daughter can only wear modest knee length skirts to respect the local culture on her upcoming mission trip? Volunteer to host the next ladies event but then realize you don't own enough matching glasses? The answer to these questions and so many more: THRIFTING! Last, but certainly not least--thrifting is all about re-cycling, re-imagining and re-creating; the best way to shop green!
Your vintage pieces are amazing and love how you decorated with them for Summer.
