Bienvenue L'automne! Macarons and Champagne at Sunset

Happy Tuesday, Friends! Today I'm joining 15 bloggers for the Fall Tablescape hop hosted by Rita at Panoply. I'm ushering in the season with French macarons, champagne, and an autumn sunset tablescape. If it's too early to toast at your house, grab your favorite drink and pull up a comfy chair...

French macarons and champagne in the garden fall table

Are you familiar with the golden hour? Photographers use the term to describe the magical lighting during the first hour after sunrise and the last hour before sunset. I decided to take advantage of the way the sunlight dances across the garden just before sunset to set my table. Last week, I shared my beginner tips for mastering macarons

I cut fresh rosemary, lamb's ear, and sunflowers from the garden to decorate the table.

I paired handpainted copper stemware and chargers with sunflower plates that were on sale at Hobby Lobby.

I created flatware bundles by using dollar store lace. I love the juxtaposition of layering garden cuttings on a vintage quilt.

TIP: Create unique napkins by using the back of dollar store tea towels!

I found the darling floral cupcake liners at a local craft store.

  9. There's a song by Frankie Beverly and Maze, an old R&B group called, "The Golden Time of Day". It came to mind immediately when I saw the first picture. Your pictures are so relaxing and I'm all in for a glass of wine and chocolate macarons. The tea towels are just right for your table and I love how the macarons inside the cupcake liners mimic the sunflowers. Beautiful!

  16. So beautifully the golden hour. My house is so shaded that I don't get that effect. Reminded me so much of my beloved Monet paintings! I would just love to plop into one of your chairs and enjoy the restfulness!

  18. Cecilia, that's fabulous! I love the golden hour and your bistro set makes for the perfect French-inspired theme. The use of botanicals side by side with the Hobby Lobby plates really makes a great pairing. Using quilts is something I love to do, and autumn is the perfect time to signal the cozy they bring. Really great use of your yard sale and DT bargains, making this look like it was all curated somewhere in the countryside of France1 Thanks for joining the hop and bringing your creative talent to the table.
