Hi there, Friends! It's time for another Creative Craft blog hop! I'd like to start by extending a big thank you to Sara at Birdz of a Feather who has graciously taken over as our hostess after guest hosting this summer! Today I'm sharing how to create festive succulent pumpkins...
If you hopped over after visiting Mary from Home is Where the Boat Is, welcome! I just love her darling pillow! These lovely succulent pumpkins have been on my project to-do list for awhile, and this fall I was determined to create them! They are easy, thrifty, and can be used to create charming vignettes and centerpieces. Now, are you ready to make your own?
Here's what you'll need:
*An assortment of faux pumpkins and faux succulents
Small pieces of greenery*Glue gun or glue dots
*X-Acto knife
First: Remove the *pumpkin stems. I found many of them will twist off easily, but you can use an X-Acto knife for stubborn stems. Next: Using the X-Acto knife, carve a small opening around the stem area for adding the succulents. Then: Arrange the succulents as desired. Play around with different styles, sizes, and heights of pumpkins and varieties of succulent. Last: Once you are pleased with your arrangement, secure succulents with a glue dot or glue gun.
THRIFTY TIPS:
*Shop dollar stores for both pumpkins and faux succulents.
(If your local stores are picked through, scroll down for options.)
*Raid your craft stash for bits of greenery.
*Save those pumpkin stems for future crafts!

ReplyDeleteYour Succulent Pumpkins make such a fun and thrifty craft Cecilia! I have made them using live succulents and pumpkins, your craft is less messy and much easier! Happy to be hopping with you again, Happy Fall ♥
ReplyDeleteVery cute Cecilia! Pumpkins are popping up everywhere right now, and I just love them all! Your white pumpkins with the green succulents are so pretty!

Cecilia, I love the smooth texture of the pumpkin and the robust texture of the succulents side by side. Lots of contrast for the eyes!
ReplyDeleteThose succulents are soooo lifelike. I always keep my eye open for them on clearance; they seem awfully expensive for what they are--but then, I can't kill them, either!
ReplyDeleteThese are darling! Thanks for sharing on Crafty Creators!
