Shop Your Home to Create a Cozy Reading Nook

Happy Monday, Friends! Recently, I was able to create a cozy reading nook in my bedroom by shopping my home and I didn't spend a penny! All it took was a little tweaking after switching chairs from one room to another. Does anyone else play musical chairs at their house

This gallery wall features some of my favorite family memories. Since it's parallel to my bed, it's one of the first things I see when I wake up every morning.

For years, my vintage chaise has been just underneath the gallery wall. Remember this repurposed flour sack towel pillow?

After I refreshed the gallery wall with a few new additions, my game of musical chairs began.  (You can see how to create this simple greeting card art, here.)

My pretty floral chair was a gift from Dear Firstborn. I moved it from the craft studio to my bedroom and the vintage chaise was relocated to the guest bedroom--stay tuned for that update, soon!

I prefer using my Kindle for most of my daily reading including Bible devotions so it's usually nearby along with a journalTIP: Create extra tabletop space by repurposing stools or topping a side table with a tray

Of course, I still have books in every room of my house. I gathered several for inspiration atop a vintage wicker basket hamper.

Here's a closer look at one of my favorite wreaths--a previous clearance find.

  3. I love seeing your home every time! I love all of your treasures with pink roses! When I was first married in '73, my late ex worked in a construction related trade. That meant come Feb., he was on unemployment and there was no extra money to redecorate. I put different slipcovers on, changed curtains, rearranged furniture, put bedroom art in the living room and vice versa! All these years later, I still do it, but do treat myself to small treasures when I find them reasonably priced! One or 2 things makes a whole new vignette!
