Happy Tuesday, Friends! This week I'm joining some of my lovely blogging friends for the Bloggers Best Spring Home Tours hosted by Mansa at This is Simplicite and Kelly at The Tattered Pew! All week long we are welcoming you into our homes decorated for spring. Won't you join us?
If you're new here, welcome to my home! Did you come from visiting Rachel's charming screened porch at The Ponds Farmhouse? I really adore her decorating style! Today I'm sharing my simple and thrifty go-to decor tips for spring.
Spring into the Season by Setting a Pretty Table
Those of you who are fully vaccinated may be excitedly anticipating hosting your first holiday since the pandemic. Yay!
Whether you're hosting extended family or an intimate gathering with those in your household, setting a pretty table is one of the easiest ways to create a cheerful vibe. (See more details from my "Bunnies in the Garden" Easter tablescape, here!)
Display Favorites in Different Ways
Highlight a cherished handmade gift, flip over a favorite piece to reveal a different message like my vintage school chalkboard...
...or style a treasured vintage collection slightly differently to expand your decor options each season.
Small details like adding fresh roses and vintage hankies to a year round display can instantly sing spring!
Add a Touch of Whimsy
A touch of whimsy can be as simple as a fun message displayed in a vintage typewriter, which can easily be changed from season to season.
If you have small figurines or whimsical pieces that bring a smile to your face, chances are they will bring joy to others too! The winter chickadees above were switched out for this charming white rabbit for spring.
Save Space & Money with Seasonal Pillow Covers
Speaking of personality, my adorable Flora the bunny pillow makes an appearance every spring.
I have such a fondness for pillows that I try to make the best use of them by stenciling both sides or using seasonal covers like the new floral lovelies I selected with a gift card I received for Christmas. (I'll post sources at the end of the post.)
Mix It Up With Color
I love using pops of color in seasonal accents like these gorgeous peony covers, but I also adore soft pastels and use them like neutrals in my decor.
Bring On the Flower Power
Fresh, dried, or faux--nothing says "spring" quite like flowers, and the possibilities for creative container displays are endless!
This galvanized caddy I bought on clearance is easily elevated by stenciling it and adding fragrant garden lavender and colorful violas. I also like to wrap small pots in parcel paper.
Adding a seasonal sign to a floral wreath is another way to change up your decor for spring.
If you have a dress form like my Juliet, play "dress up" by adorning her with blooms! (See how I used dollar store peonies to create this look, here!)
Embrace What You Love
At the beginning of the post, I shared a view of my dining room styled for Easter. Here's how it looked several weeks ago. Are you a dishaholic like me? Consider pulling your pretty plates out of the cabinet to create a gallery wall that you can enjoy year round!

In my southern home, you'll find an eclectic mix of vintage collections, thrift store upcycles, DIY, and handmade accents. When you layer your home with the pieces you love, it has a way of all coming together! Thanks for visiting, and happy spring!

You have so many great ideas for decorating a home for spring, Cecilia. I love your Bunnies in the Garden Tablescape and especially love how you tucked a vintage napkin into each cup. Your white bunny with a floral necklace is so cute and I've never seen one like it. I really enjoyed all of your decorating ideas!

ReplyDeleteCecilia your home looks beautiful decorated for Spring! I absolutely love your collections and especially your jadeite! Happy Spring my friend...pinned!
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing your lovely home; it is restful yet has the pops of color my spirit needs! Our snowbanks have finally melted but I fully expect one more winter storm! I drafted my SO to drill holes in the ends of halved spindles today; I am making rustic carrots. If you leave a thrifted magazine rack outdoors for a year through a Maine winter, it ages the spindles nicely! Been sick with a dental infection so a bit of crafting really hit the spot!
ReplyDeleteLove all your pretty spring details. Especially the message in your typewriter! :)
