Creating Masterpieces and Memories: Friday's Find #300

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! Today I have one special find plus I'm sharing the artwork (and artist!) that inspired it...

fabulous find of the week

By the time you read this, Ginger Grand will be here visiting and I will be away from my computer. As usual, I've scheduled my posts ahead, and I wanted to share this week's fabulous find--a child's easel. You may have seen these at Ikea; one side is a chalkboard and the other side is dry erase. It folds up and also has a nifty tray that I know Ginger Grand will love for storing his art supplies. I was thrilled to score this one at a yard sale just before his arrival!

Some of you may remember from previous posts, that GG loves to craft with me. However, he has become quite the talented artist! Yes, I know I may be biased, but see for yourself! Last year when they went to Scotland, Youngest Daughter took lots of beautiful photographs, including the one on the bottom of the Highland cow. Ginger Grand's representation is on the top. He even captured the shaggy hair. Didn't he do a beautiful job?

I've gathered an assortment of canvases and I'm hoping my little artist will paint a likeness of my garden. Look how much he has grown up in one year! Last year he was playing "King of the Garden." This year he is sporting shades and selected his cool new haircut for summer!

Ginger Grand loves to go to garage sales! For his visit, I've stocked up on special treats and his favorite recipes for us to cook together. We'll be creating masterpieces and memories! July 31 UPDATE: My little artist created such a beautiful painting of my garden, I had to share it!
