Winter White French Farmhouse Mantel

Hi there, Friends! We've been having a colder than usual January here in Texas and I don't know about you, but things always seem a little bare once the Christmas decorations are stored. By layering winter white linens and several thrifted French vessels with fresh and faux florals, I created a simple farmhouse mantel to warm up the room...

When Cecilia B visited in October, Audrey at Timeless Treasures graciously gave us both our picks from her collection. Since then I've used them to create DIY lace garland and style a Snow Queen inspired winter dress formTalk about a gift that keeps on giving--once again, I started with another linen from Audrey. The pretty crocheted piece on the bottom looks like it may have been a window valance but doubles beautifully as a runner for the mantel. I love the scalloped edges.

I reused the delicate handmade doily garland from my Christmas mantel and it will also transition nicely for Valentine's Day.

The tureen, pitcher and soup bowls are French dishes from my thrifted collection. Fresh baby's breath and LED candles were added to the soup bowls. I found the faux floral spheres in Round Top during Texas Antiques Week this past fall. Last, the faux lamb's ear adds just a hint of greenery.

  2. Very pretty Cecilia ... so glad you are enjoying the linens. That piece of crochet makes a great runner for your mantel. Thanks for the "link-back" on the linens ... (guess I need to get my blog updated a little). Also love the faux lamb's ear greenery. I have been trying to add more greenery in my Winter decorating.

  6. Very pretty winter white display. I am partial to using a lot of whites in my own decor, so this really appeals to me. I love the doily garland, too. You don't often see those around and it just adds a unique touch to that already lovely display.

  10. I love lace and doilies and was impressed by yours. I've never done much with white so this is a novel approach for me; enjoying it.
