Christmas Greetings and Snow Queen Inspired Winter Dress Form

Merry Christmas Eve, dear Friends! I'd like to take the opportunity to wish you all a blessed Christmas and a new year that's filled with peace and joy! I may not have a white Christmas here in Texas, but this year my vintage dress form, Juliet has been crowned Snow Queen for the holidays and winter months to come...

You may remember some of Juliet's previous holiday apparel. She originally graced my front entry clothed in peace and greenery. More recently, she was a vision as a ballerina inspired by memories of my daughters' childhood performances in the classic Nutcracker Ballet. This season's inspiration came from another sweet memory--Youngest Daughter's portrayal of the Snow Queen at our local community theater. I still remember how excited she was when she found out she got the part. To style my dress form version, I layered a combination of the vintage linens I received from Audrey, arranging them to form a waistband and skirt. I accessorized with pom-poms and a glittery snowflake.

For the top, I added a handmade crocheted lace collar topped with a vintage fur collar and of course a tiara for my queen, with a few more pom-poms for a little whimsy. I believe this Snow Queen will add a touch of warmth during the winter ;)

  7. I love the phrase "sense of whimsy"; it sounds so much BETTER than "weird" which is what I tend to get around here...some people just have NO imagination. Their inner child is pathetic! I am glad you have been able to use the linens from Audrey so constructively. I also love the lacy edge you used on the border of the picture! I scored a brown faux fur neck scarf for free @ a flea market last week (with a buttonhole through 1 end); Al's 10 year old granddaughter is gonna love it as an evening stole for her 18" dolls! I;ll have to show her how it SHOULD be worn!
