Hi there, Friends! As promised earlier this week, today I'm sharing the holiday accents I've added to my bedroom. I've kept it simple and rather than buying anything new, I've shopped my home instead, to create a calm and cozy Christmas bedroom....
I adore the Christmas season and I happen to be that girl that starts listening to Christmas music in November, so I am often inspired by lyrics from Christmas carols. Lately more than ever, I've been all about using what I already have. The All is calm sign is the back of a hand painted floral sign I've had hanging over my bed for ages. For the holidays, I simply flipped it over and added the Silent Night lyrics. You can see my secret for no-paint flawless lettering, here--no Cricut needed either! Sometimes using what I have means seeing it in a different way. When I found this thrift store boxwood wreath, it had some bare spots but with a little careful rearranging, I was able to repair it and the following summer, my upcycled wreath was featured in a magazine. Now, it's been reloved again, but this time I've removed the floral embellishments and accented the naked greenery with sweet little vintage deer that were also thrifted.
I hung the wreath over my vintage linen covered comfy chair. By stenciling the back sides of seasonal pillows, as I have with the comfy, cozy pair below, I save money and storage space! I opted for simplicity for most of my Christmas decor this year, including the presents I wrapped.
For the holidays, I use all white bedding and this year added just a hint of red and gray with the grain sack stripe pillow and pom-pom throw. I love the Christmas sleigh scene on the thrifted vintage tray.
Here's a view with the upcycled sign and the bed.
I arranged my thrift store Christmas tree farm on top of the armoire that is across from the bed.
Amidst the popularity of the tree laden red truck, I tend to favor an aqua VW bug that's seen in many of my holiday vignettes. However, I bring out this little minty toy truck from time to time. What would the holidays be without a touch of whimsy?
