Happy Wednesday, Friends! Today, I'm excited to be participating in the Fall in Love with Texas Blog Tour! If you're new here, welcome! Grab your tea or coffee and follow me out to the garden where I've created a cozy little retreat where we can visit....
Since this is a Texas blog tour, it's safe to say I'm not the only who hasn't experienced fall temperatures yet! However, as I write this we've had a week of rain and I am optimistic that it may usher in some cooler weather--a girl can dream, right? There's just something about the season that makes me want to snuggle up with a good book and a soothing cup of hot tea, so I arranged a peaceful sanctuary in the gazebo. My antique wicker sofa is a treasured yard sale find from several years ago. Around the same time, I was thrilled to find the comfy green seat cushions at a local thrift store. Since the sofa and patterned outdoor pillows are inside the gazebo, they stay outside year round.
Of course, I also shopped my home for a few items to bring outside and cozy up the space for the season. I hung sheer curtains (also yard sale finds) that can be easily washed before storing for the winter. I also used sturdy garden lantern hooks to hang this capiz shell lamp shade.
By tucking a flameless LED fall candle inside, it adds instant warmth and creates an outdoor chandy with a boho vibe. Not only do I love the look, but anytime there is a breeze, the shells make a sound similar to wind chimes.
I also brought out a soft brushed velvet throw and pillow that I recently upcycled. {See how to make this pillow here.}
A thrifted copper tray rests on top of an outdoor pouf to hold another candle, my cup of tea and fragrant lavender. Layering warm colors, textures and patterns and adding a hint of copper creates a casual boho style that beckons relaxation.
Top it off with a good book and we're all set!
