Hi there, Friends! Now that September is here, I've been adding a few fall accents, starting with my mantel. I'm a firm believer in shopping my home and finding new ways to arrange what I already have for seasonal displays. It's been a few years since I styled the mantel with milk glass and I've been wanting to feature my vintage collection. As usual, I've added some natural elements, some traditional favorites and even...
...several dollar store finds. In fact, the dollar store buys are the only items I purchased--a whopping $3! You've probably guessed I'm referring to the gold glass pumpkins. I love them mixed with my thrifted milk glass collection and the great white pumpkin I use every single fall. It was a clearance find at Target ages ago and I grow more fond of it each year. Do you have traditional favorites that you bring out every year?
Since pumpkins are harvested late in the season here, wheat has become an autumn staple. My local grocery store carries it in the floral department and since it's already dried, it lasts from year to year. I had plenty for this year from a previous year's purchase. You'll notice lots of acorns too.
In everything give thanks is one of my favorite scriptures and I found the pretty gold lettered sign at Homegoods last year. I find the best signs there! It's resting on a stack of vintage books for added height. A single feather saved from a gift bouquet of flowers, is tucked between the books and the pumpkins.
A little lace, candle light and the pops of gold add a hint of romance.
I hope you'll drop by on Wednesday when I'll be starting a new series featuring dollar store fall crafts ~ a thrifty way to spruce up your home for the season and spend less!
