Spring Tablescape Featuring Jadeite, Bunnies and Chickens...Oh My!

Happy Wednesday, Friends! Anyone else out there have spring fever? Most of you have seen the vintage jadeite collection that dominates every space of my kitchen. While I've shared a variety of jadeite tablescapes on the breakfast table there, this spring I was inspired to introduce the minty green dishes to my dining room. Come see how I mixed several new items with my vintage treasures to create a cheerful spring tablescape.

Occasionally I come across a newer piece that I can't pass because I know it will mix beautifully with my collection. Such was the case with the jade rooster and hen I scored for 30% at World Market recently. Here you can see how lovely they look next to my vintage platter and flower filled bowl.

I'm especially fond of the rooster....

...but I like the hen too.

Before I share the rest of the table, here's a peek from the top. I used a jadeite serving bowl to create a simple floral arrangement with a grocery store bouquet of daisy like asters and fresh mint from my garden. The pretty pink stemware and lacy doily were thrift store finds.

After finding them at Pier One a few years ago, the first time I shared these sweet bunny plates I remember wishing I had jadeite plates that were large enough to pair with them. That was before I scored these fabulous dinner plates at an estate sale last fall. I love them layered between the bunny plates and my favorite doily chargers. You can see how to make these simple place cards here.

Do you have a beautiful vintage tablecloth that is too stained to use? See how to make repurposed flatware pockets here.

Remember these thrift store eggs? Stay tuned--next week I'll be sharing how I gave them a floral mini makeover!

  1. I have those bunny plates too! They are so adorable. You have great taste! 😉However, I don't have the pretty jadeite to pair mine with; just plain white ones. I love them with the jadeite! Cute rooster and hen too. They play well with your collection! 😀 Yay for spring!

  5. I love jadeite, too, but have only ever bought one piece, years ago. These days I only find it really expensive if at all. I've admired World Market's collection and have had to hold myself back from buying any! Your tablescape is just lovely! xo Kathleen Our Hopeful Home
