Recreated Whimsical Garden Stones

Happy Wednesday Friends! Don't you just love finding a good clearance aisle? Recently, I scored these chalkboard Easter eggs for 90% off and decided to recreate them as garden stones...

Whimsical garden bugs


Since these are flat on the bottom, I thought they would make nice herb markers.  I used a white pencil to label most of them with herb names. I still had two left...

...So I decided one would become a ladybug and the other a bumble bee! I used painter's tape to help divide the colors.  I painted the ladybug mostly red and added yellow stripes for the bee. Each needed two coats.

Once they were dry, I used the end of the paint brush to give the lady bug her spots. Turned out pretty cute, if I say so myself!

Thrifty garden whimsy--these would be fun to make with kids, too!
