TGITF Friends! Yard sale season is upon us and that's where I scored most of today's fab finds...
I was really tempted to keep these lovely aqua rimmed Buffalo china plates! They are available here.
This primitive folk doll was buried in a yard sale box. I thought she looked like she had a story to tell and sure enough, Grandma Snazzy, made in the Ozark Mountains was inspired by the old Bob Burns radio programs from the 30s-40s. Look at the detail in her clothing and did you notice her little brown jug? Grandma Snazzy SOLD!
I am always drawn to vintage books and this copy of The Count of Monte Cristo has a handwritten inscription from 1933. SOLD
Pewter is such a timeless classic. This charming cream and sugar set are available here.
Now for the keepers! This gorgeous brown transferware will be hung with my collection!
This adorable vintage kiddie chair was my first find of the day--stay tuned to see my plans for it! Update: See it chalk painted and repurposed.
This fabulous chippy church birdhouse went straight from my car to my front porch --love it!
Until next time, happy hunting!
Great finds, Cecilia. I love the brown transferware plate! How cool. Can't wait to see what you do with the chair...I have an idea and will see if I'm right, ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat birdhouse too. How's the weather your way? We're getting more rain. But I'm not complaining! Have a wonderful weekend,
Cecilia
Great finds! I LOVE going to yard sales and get tickled pink when I find great deals.

Great finds! Love this time of the year. Garage sales and estate sales on every corner now that it has quit raining.

Cecilia, you found some fun finds. Haven't seen an apple doll in many, many years. '-)
ReplyDeleteCecilia ... really neat stuff that you have to show us today. I LOVE the bird house. That would be so easy to make if I just had that cute picket fence board. Anxious to see what you do with the little chair. Enjoy your week-end.

Oh...those aqua plates...if I wouldn't have to redecorate my entire kitchen to display them, they would be mine. So gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove your finds. Can't wait to see what you do with the sweet little chair.
ReplyDeleteThere always has to be at least one keeper in the bunch! Your transferware and birdhouse are wonderful keepers! Love the doll too!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! Have a beautiful weekend. Hugs, Jo
ReplyDeleteOh, the church and the chair!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's always hard to decide what to keep and what to sell. Love that church bird house; I'd have a hard time giving that up. Thanks for sharing at Vintage Inspiratin Party.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! Love the old book and the transferware .... but Granma Snazzy has my vote for the MOST interesting! Thanks so much for sharing with "Let's Talk Vintage!" this week!
