Happy Wednesday Friends! Have you ever come home from the perfect vacation longing to capture the same mood at home? Maybe you added a soothing water feature or relaxing hammock comparable to one from your recent getaway. A few years ago, I was blessed to go on vacation with my brother and his sweet family to Seaside, Florida. We stayed in a charming beach house. Every morning and many evenings we gathered on the porch in these perfect chairs....
Though I adored the bright colors, I was especially taken with how comfy they were. I noticed that many of the beach houses had them and soon learned that they were made by Polywood, out of recycled plastic to withstand harsh temperatures and sun exposure. Unfortunately they were way out of my price range! While I secretly entertained dreams of coming across one in an estate sale, I did my best to re-create the look. You may remember last year, I scraped, sanded and painted my own little adirondack. It looked fabulous...
...but after another year in the Texas sun, I was right back where I started!
While I love a good makeover, I am tired of being a slave to wood patio furniture and let's face it--cracked, peeling wood is not comfy. I was elated to learn that Polywood is now available at Target.com for the best price I've seen anywhere! I ordered mine in Pacific Blue, but they are available in a rainbow of colors. It is stain, bug and fade resistant and comes with a 20 year warranty! Sometimes investing in quality is the best buy. No more yearly painting or scraping--I couldn't be happier! That's time I can spend relaxing....

MY HEARTFELT THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING FOR FEATURING THIS POST:
That looks wonderful! We always buy the inexpensive colorful plastic Adirondack chairs, but they always break quickly. The looks like an answer for us, too...thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a really nice chair that will stand up to the weather. Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Dianne
Beautiful chair Cecilia ... yea ... no more painting. I bet you really enjoy it for relaxing in your lovely Secret Garden. We have metal chairs and all need to be painted this year. Not looking forward to that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info on Polywood.
Have a great rest of the week.

Well found, Cecilia. The Texas sun is like a blast furnace and anything impervious to that exposure year after year is well worth the $$.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I found a place in East Texas that sells those but they were so expensive. Painting the wood ones is a big pain too. I'm off to check out Target. Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteI wish someone would come up with building plans for an Adirondack chair with a level seat...I can't get enough ummmph to get out of one...we need an Adirondack chair for the over 60-years-old crowd!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the colorful chairs.. I'm glad you found one you liked.
ReplyDeleteI love Adirondack chairs Cecilia and these maintenance free ones are fabulous! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
